One week later...
She felt the energy bubble under her skin, making her muscles contract with a rapidness she would otherwise not be able to achieve. Closing her eyes, she opened her palms outwards, heaving her head up to the sky.
The soft humming of the energy coursing through her body like electricity, soothed her somehow, she felt more in tune with herself. A softblue aura glowed around her head and her hairs slowly rose up in the sky, without there being any wind present. Frowning slighty under the strain of her excersize, she extended her fingers even more, spreading them apart as much as possible.
Without warning she jumped up and turned around in one fluid motion. Her hand extended as if in slow motion and grabbed the body of another person, pinning it down on the forest floor.
"Whoa, hey relax, it's just me."
"Do not sneak up on me like that."
"I wasn't...do you mind if I sit up? There's something poking in my back."
"Explain, I have felt your presence for a few minutes before you moved foward."
"Well," Jaylin toyed a little with her fingers, avoiding eyecontact with Lae'la who still hung partly above her. "I guess I was just admiring the view is all." Oh and what a view, she silently thought. She couldn't believe Lae'la was wearing a light sjinit on a day like this. It was close to shining-through.
Lae'la moved up and put some distance between her and the Asaytan woman. She didn't like to be that close to the woman who almost sold her as a slave. Even though she realized that it wouldn't happen again, she still hadn't forgotten about it. "Why have you come?"
"Uhm..." Jaylin wondered why she had such a hard time to put her thoughts into words. Maybe because she was surprised at the rate at which the white-haired woman had seem to have grown up. "You have been absent a lot the past few days, missing even some of the meals we had. I suppose it made us all worried, so I went to check up on you."
"I can get some of my energy from the sun, and I cannot practice my exercizes because of the noise and amount of people at the camp."
Jaylin eyed Lae'la noticing the energy that had swirled around the pale-skinned woman had disappeared mostly now. She sensed something was wrong with the young Mossarian she had saved not two weeks ago from the dark prison she had been locked away in for so long. Although she wondered why she sensed that, it was like she could read Lae'la like a open book.
"I need to continue my excersizes."
"Lae'la, your hiding something, aren't you?"
"I am not," Lae'la answered turning her head back to the lake in which Jaylin had taught her to swim.
Jaylin rose a eyebrow at the answer, knowing the young woman was lying. "Don't you lie to me Lae'la, I thought we were at least friends. And friends are there to help each other out."
"You have never helped me."
Shocked Jaylin grabbed Lae'la's chin and turned it to face her. "That's wasindishit, and you know it. If not for me you would still be living away the rest of your empty life in that stinking prisoncell."
"Who says I was not better off there," Lae'la answered looking the other woman directly in the eye, her voice low and emotionless.
"I can't believe your...wait a minute," Jaylin traced the blueish lines on Lae'la's face and saw her facade slowly beginning the crumble. She was amazed at the softness of the Mossarian's skin, and for a moment she thought she was going to be lost in the liquid blue pools of Lae'la's eyes, that were swirling with emotions. "You're trying to push me away, aren't you? Why?"
"I need to go," Lae'la said standing up and moving towards the direction she had orginally come from.
Jaylin also moved up and grabbed the other woman's shoulder this time. "You're not going anywhere. At least not until we have talked this out. I don't get any of this. By Nephos Hells."
Hissing, Lae'la slapped the hand off her shoulder and faced Jaylin. "You don't get it do you? I have not asked to be what I am, and I still am not certain what that is exactly. But I do know that we have to part ways." Shaking her head slowly she moved her hands over her face for a moment. "I only put you in danger, you and your friends. Like I did to Asper. She...she died because of me."
"It wasn't because of you, it was because of what faith decided. You can't predict the future Lae'la. Yes I know you can perhaps remove some of the factors that influence the course of the future. But if we're playing the blamegame here, I could blame myself for not being fast enough to save her, or blame Morai for not tossing the spinner closer to Asper. We all die someday, and I guess Asper's time had just come. By Serpia, I will not be the only one to admit that I do miss her a lot, but we can't change it back, as much as I'd love too. And I know she would not have blamed you for what happened."
"That does not matter now. I do have to go, our destiny is different."
"I...if what Tiny said was right, then your presence could be a danger for the future, or something," Jaylin smirked. "If those black-clad men had captured you, Serpia knows what would have happened, it couldn't have been any good. I do hate to say this, but you just can't fall in bad hands."
"I can take care of myself now."
"No you can't, if somebody sets up a trap they can capture you, you're saver in our presence."
"I do not like your reasoning," Lae'la said grumbling.
"We'll yours isn't flawless either," Jaylin countered with her hands at her side.
"Fine, I will remain in your company until I have found a way to traverse on my own in a secure way," Lae'la said turning around again. She stuck out her tongue briefly, unseen by her companion.
"Good, I know Tiny can show you some stuff that's on his datachrystals that will show you were you originally came from, before you ended up on that prisonplanet."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, Tiny seems to know more about the Prophet's writings, so he can probably explain it in more detail. I wasn't sure if he was right about you being the Chosen One, and actually I'm still not sure, but I do know you're special." Closing her eyes for a brief moment, a small smile tugged at Jaylin's mouthcorners. "I can't think of any other reason why that gang of black men keeps showing up, wherever we go."
Lae'la shrugged slightly and tugged a little at the Sjinit she was wearing. It was sticking to her body like a second skin because of the extreme heat that had plagued the planet they were on, for the past few days. She didn't realize that her fidgeting revealed a greater amount of skin then normally would be the case.
Jaylin had noticed though, and she eyed the other woman with a mixed feeling of curiosity and self-loathing. She once again realized that Lae'la was no longer a young girl, but a grown-up woman, with a very nice figure as well. But even if Lae'la was learning more about herself and her powers everyday, she still possessed a innocence that made Jaylin nervous whenever she looked at the white-haired woman. Pulling her eyes away, she moved towards the trail that led back to the basecamp. The longer she was in the presence of the other woman, the more she realized she hadn't had any real company for a very long time now, and it was clearly taking it's toll.
"The sooner we're off this backwater-planet, the better," she grumbled, not waiting for Lae'la to follow her.

Arriving at the camp, Jaylin saw Cinder sitting on the forest floor in the distance. She sighed inwardly as she realized the mysterious woman was once again mourning at Asper's grave. Shaking her head slowly, her eyes sought out Nissa and Morai, from whom she knew they were never far away from Cinder. She had ordered them to follow the Dark Alliance woman, because she was afraid Cinder might harm herself or her little daughter.
Moments before Asper had died, her daughter had been saved from a very lethal disease by Lae'la. Jaylin frowned as she realized Asper never had the chance to get to know her daughter. She also knew why her old friend had ran away after she found out Kymber was her child. Asper had taken revenge for what Cinder had done to her body a few years ago, but when she had taken her revenge, she hadn't thought about her own personal feelings.
She was still half-Latai, a feminine species who were only able to conceive a child when they loved the person they shared their bed with. Kymber was the living proof Asper had a secret affection for the woman who she had thought she hated for the longest time.
Jaylin briefly wondered what would have happened if Asper had confessed she had feelings for Cinder the day they had met again. Although she had never heard the whole story from the half-Latai, she remembered Asper had brooded for a period of a few months after her return from the Dark Alliance base she had found Cinder at. When Jaylin first saw Kymber, she finally realized what happened. Some people were too stubborn for their own good. Jaylin really wished Asper was still alive so she and Cinder could talk out their difference, heal their old wounds, and perhaps live happily ever after.
Nissa's approach pulled Jaylin out of her thoughts. "How long has she been sitting there this time?"
"A few hours, she doesn't cry either Ma'Tok, and her daughter seems to be distressed about the fact her mother neglects her."
"First of all, I want you to stop calling that. I feel like a hypocrite, you never really have been my slave, we both know that. Just call me Jaylin like all my other friends do, I'm not as anal-retentive as most of the HQ-people."
"I am still technically your slave, Ma...Jaylin."
"Then I hereby denounce your slave-status. Now I want you to go to Cinder, and see if you can get through to her. Try whatever you can, she has a daughter that needs to be taken care of, and as much as I feel her pain, she does need to go on. Oh, and where is Silver? I haven't seen him all day."
"Silver is a she," Nissa said, grinning slightly when Jaylin rolled her eyes. "I don't know, but I think she's hunting, I guess the young teiwsa likes Mercenary rations just as much as you do."
Jaylin made a yucky face for a moment, then she turned her head back to where Cinder sat at the small graveyard they had made a week ago. 5 People had died, during the surprise attack of the blackclad men. It could have been worse, but Jaylin wished they were all still alive. A sad look covered her face at the senselessness of it all.
"We need to get off this planet Nissa, as beautiful as it is, it feels like a deathtrap to me," Jaylin said, some shivers moving down her spine as she looked at the 5 decorated stone columns that covered every grave. She had taken extra care to decorate Asper's column, wanting it to be a worthy memory of her dearest friend.
"I agree, although I do not like the fact that we can't visit Asper's last restingplace as much as I'd like too when we leave. On the Tarpa-Homeworld, the dead are respected sometimes more then the living."
"I know, but I don't see any options, I really need to make Serretan angry so she speeds up her work on that cloacking-device, so we can leave. Tiny believes he knows a place where Lae'la will be save, and can be guided to harness her powers to defend us from more outside attacks. But before we can journey there we need that cloacker online, I don't want to engage in any spacebattles, so I guess have prod Serretan to hurry her furry butt up."
"But, is Serretan not angry enough already?"
Jaylin rose a eyebrow in response. "She should be thankful we found another Vashen to mate with her. But you know how Serretan is, the first thing she did after the Heat had passed, was break every object that was so unfortunate to be in her way. Luckily the cloacker was still onboard of Tiny's vessel."
Nissa watched as Lae'la approached and walked past them without greeting. "I see talks between you and the young Mossarian went well."
Jaylin growled between clenched teeth. "She's as stubborn as a mule, thinking she can take care of herself now that she has developed her powers a little more. She's just a little girl."
"Well the little girl has grown up quite fast this last week. The teiwsa has helped her a lot to focus her mind and control the energy she possesses. But she's still...innocent, I suppose, even though she has killed some of the people who attacked us, there's some aura around her, something untouched." Nissa watched as her friend's eyes followed Lae'la's form until she disappeared out of their sights. "But that's not why you are frustrated with her, is it?"
Jaylin's head snapped back to Nissa, squeezing her eyes to small sliths. "It doesn't matter why I am frustrated, I don't like the stuck-up way she behaves, is all. And that teiwsa...is nothing but bad news."
Nissa shrugged but said nothing. After moments of silence, which wasn't entirely uncomfortable, Jaylin looked up at the sky to measure how much time they had left until dawn. "I'm going to hunt for some wasindi, or whatever else has some meat on it, I really don't feel like eating Mercenary rations."
Nissa nodded, and walked back to where Morai sat. He was observing Cinder who was still sitting at the edge of Asper's white marble grave. Squeezing his shoulder briefly, she walked up to Cinder and tried to make eyecontact with the motionless woman. When that failed, she put a hand on Cinder's forehead and relaxed her mind. And within seconds Cinder's eyes began to water, and she allowed herself to cry for the first time since Asper's death, sagging down as Nissa held her.

Warning for some darkness/angst ahead. Not for the faint of heart I suppose, although it shouldn't be that bad.
The darkness engulfed her completely, absorbing every sense of awareness she was able to have. She was unable to determine which side was up, and how big the room or whatever she was in, was. All she was aware of was the pitch black cloud that hung like a heavy cloack around her entire body.
She was barely able to breathe, but when she did inhale, she tasted a biterness that came from within the room itself. The air was stale, and she wasn't sure if there was some dangerous gas in it or not, but not breathing ment a certain dead anyways, so she didn't have a choice.
A spark of light somewhere in the distance made her squeeze her eyes to tiny sliths, to dertermine the cause. But even as the light sparkled again, she felt shivers go down her spine, and she knew something was near. Turning around, as if in slow motion, she was unable to stop her hands from shaking.
It was just as black as her surroundings, save for the eyes, which shone a bright yellow, with a hint of orange in the irisses. She knew it could only have been spawned from the Hells itself.
At first it eyed her with some curiosity, titling it's head slightly. But when it opened it's jaws, she saw a row of pale white teeth that made her whole body stop it's every movement. Her heart skipped a couple of beats as the large beast stepped ever closer, it's hoofs resounding on the stone floor. But still she wasn't able to move, her mind cried out to run, but her body was frozen.
For a moment the beast's eyes seemed to penetrate her completely, then it lurged forward and grabbed her body with it's sharp claws. As her body was mangled, she screamed for help, but she couldn't find any means to defend herself. With every wound that was inflicted, blood poured out, and with every drop of blood, her heart slowed down.
Suddenly the beast let go of her, and her bloodied body fell down on the dark stone floor. Her chest was a mess of flesh and shattered bones, her face unrecognisably destroyed forever, and her arms were nothing but shreds of flesh hanging uselessly at her sides. But her heart continued to beat, and her lungs continued to inhale the stale air. The beast didn't move however, it just waited.
Minutes passed, and she was soon lying in a puddle of her own blood, even though her body was gone already, her spirit had never left her. A sharp clanking sound made her eyes move sidewards. Before she was able to do anything at all, a face appeared within sight, a split tongue snaking out of the it's lips.
The movement surprised her completely. All she saw was the large cermonial dagger plow itself inside her chest, right through her heart. Even as she screamed and tried to move her hands forward, she saw the dagger pulsate a slow green light, and her body started to spasm in response.
"Noooooo."
"Lae'la...hey, wake up."
"Noo, please...no."
"Wake up sweetie, you just got a bad dream."
Lae'la shot up suddenly, her chest heaving to get some air inside. "Oh gods." She moved her hands in front of her face and started to cry unbashingly.
Jaylin looked down at her white-haired friend for a moment unable to make up her mind as to what to do. She bit her lips as she saw Lae'la in such a amount of distress she swore she could the girl's pain herself. Sitting down on the edge of the bed, she moved Lae'la's hands away from her face, and caressed her cheeks softly. She didn't know why, but she felt a strong need to comfort the young woman. "Shhh it's all going to be alright, it was just a bad dream."
"It was so real, that same person as my other dreams. Something...something happened, I can't..." Lae'la sobbed on Jaylin's shoulders, unable to finish her sentence. "I just can't."
"Shhhh, can't what Lae'la?" Jaylin asked, as she moved her one hand in soothing circles over Lae'la's back. At the same time she realized the woman she was holding was almost entirely naked. And that awaress almost made her jump up as she felt electricity shoot through her hands the moment she made contact with the Mossarian's soft milky white skin.
"I don't know, I just can't..." Lae'la stared at a undefined point in the distance, she knew there was something she was supposed to remember, but she just couldn't quite grasp it. As she moved herself back towards her bed, and she felt Jaylin's bare hands on her skin, something stirred in her stomach.
"You okay now?"
"Yes, thank you," Lae'la said, slightly embarassed with openingly displaying her emotions like that. "I...I am sorry for waking you up."
"No, don't you go sorry on me, I know how lively a nightmare can be at times, trust me. Will you be okay?"
"Yes, yes I will be okay. Although something's..." Lae'la frowned, wiping her tears away with the sleeves of the nightdress that covered only some parts of her body.
"Something's what?" Jaylin asked concerned, not realising she was still stroking Lae'la's hand that was covered in light blue lines.
"There was a knife in my dreams. A ceremonial dagger. It glowed a soft green colour when it..it.." Lae'la's eyes swirled with emotions as she lived her memories again, unable to get the image out of her head.
"Hey...try to sleep okay? Maybe Tiny's datachrystals moved something to the surface, and it caused those dreams, I'm sure it's just a bad dream, and nothing more then that." Jaylin said, finally realising what she was doing. As if she had burned herself, she withdrew her hand and stood up. Looking back one last time she went back to her own room.
Sighing, she wondered what that had been all about. The more and the closer she got to Lae'la, the more she felt a range of feelings course through her body in a uncontrollable fashion.
Unable to surpress feelings of lust, and visions of Lae'la as she heaved her head up to the sky in pure concentration, Jaylin moved a finger below her nightdress. She felt almost guilty as she rubbed herself slowly, unable to stop herself, she just needed to relieve some of the tension that had been plagueing her body almost all day.
Jaylin imagined a faceless person doing this to her. Moving it's fingers inside of her, in a ever increasing pace. She could feel the soft kisses on her skin, making her burn with a deep desire. The head moved towards her breasts, a tongue swirling around her nipples, lips blowing cool air against her heated skin.
She moved closer towards her orgasm, and the waves of pleasure assaulted her whole body as she shuddered. Closing her eyes, she entered herself with a second finger, moving it in and out as fast as she could. Jaylin bit her lips to prevent herself from crying out as the first sparkle of light behind her eyes signaled she was about the go over the edge.
Before her body started to spasm incontrollably, her eyes shot open and for a moment she saw a vision of Lae'la in front of her clearly. "Oh Serpia, no." But the next second she bucked up, and came hard.
