Summary: Seven attempts to woo B'Elanna by showering her with gifts
B'Elanna ..... opened the top drawer .......
17 Jun 2002
B'Elanna sat at her desk in engineering and opened the top drawer hoping that it would be empty. But alas there in shiny silver paper was another gift from Seven of Nine. B'Elanna sighed and closed the drawer without opening the gift. This was getting out of control. Ever since Tom had convinced Seven that the way to a girl's heart was through gifts, chocolates and flowers, there had been a steady stream of them delivered to the Klingon Engineer's office and quarters as well as some left waiting for her in the mess hall. B'Elanna had tried to talk to Seven about it and tell her to stop, but Tom, the Petaq, had convinced Seven that women were supposed to put up some form of protest. That underneath they really liked receiving gifts and the protests were just a token gesture so men wouldn't think them to be opportunistic and greedy. Seven did not believe B'Elanna Torres possessed these qualities but Tom assured her that he had bought B'Elanna many gifts during their courtship and he must of done something right because she married him. This gave Seven some thoughts to ponder as she decided on the next gift for B'Elanna.
Entering the mess hall B'Elanna found Seven and Tom sitting close together in what appeared to be a very private and personal conversation. As Tom slid his arm around Seven's shoulder B'Elanna saw red.
"Tom, you Petaq, get your damn hands off her and stop filling her head with rubbish about gifts, flowers and damn chocolates. I never liked them when you kept buying them for me before we were married and as much as I told you to stop you never bloody listened. You can't buy someone's love. God, Tom when are you going to realise that?"
Tom and Seven sat looking up at the Engineer both doing their best gold fish impersonations.
"Lieutenant Torres." Seven began only to be cut off by the feisty Klingon.
"Seven, I am going to ask you to stop this gift giving debacle once and for all. And I'm asking that you stop out of respect for me. OK?"
"Yes B'Elanna, I am truly sorry to have distressed you with my over zealous actions and I will cease gift giving immediately."
B'Elanna realising how literal the Borg was had to stop and think about the consequences of that statement.
"Seven there are still occasions which will require gift giving, like Naomi's birthday. I know you like to spoil that kid rotten when you get the chance and that's OK, but understand the reasons behind the occasions and why you're giving the gift."
"Oh and Seven if you really want to start a relationship with me I suggest that Fly Boy here would be the last person to take advice from."
The two goldfish were back and B'Elanna sauntered out of the mess hall.
Seven stood up to leave the mess hall, she needed some time to think and research the data base on what was the best way to pursue a relationship with the beautiful, fiery Klingon.
"Lieutenant Paris you were incorrect in your assessment of Lieutenant Torres. Now if you don't mind I would rather do this on my own. I'm sure you understand."
Tom Paris didn't even have the temerity to look embarrassed after his ex-wife had blasted him and then invited the Borg to pursue a relationship with her. And all this right here in front of their friends in the mess hall. No, he just sat back in his chair with a smug grin on his face. 'Did he know B'Elanna or what?' He chuckled as he pictured the gorgeous Klingon striding purposely towards engineering only to stop dead in her tracks as she realised she had just given the Borg permission to pursue a relationship with her.....

"Oh Kahless. What have I done?"
Samantha Wildman was just walking past on her way to the hydroponics bay when she saw B'Elanna standing stock still in the corridor staring straight ahead.
"Lieutenant Torres are you alright? Is there anything I can do? Lieutenant, Lieutenant speak to me."
B'Elanna still hadn't focused.
"Oh Kahless, I have just given Seven permission to pursue a relationship with me. What was I thinking?"
"Well Lieutenant you were probably thinking that Seven is the most incredible individual you have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She's smart, she's gorgeous, she's stubborn, she's generous, she's loving and God knows why Lieutenant she's in love with you."
"Lieutenant, take this wonderful gift she's offering you, take her heart, but you better look after it. Seven may seem cold and arrogant but there has been many a night when I've had to dry her tears after you two have had a fight. Do you know how lucky you are?" "Oh Lieutenant close your mouth you look like a god damned goldfish!" With that Samantha turned and stormed down the corridor mumbling to herself.
B'Elanna touched her comm. badge "Torres to Seven of Nine". No answer. "Computer locate Seven of Nine." "Seven of Nine is in Lieutenant Torres quarters"
B'Elanna sprinted towards her quarters nearly knocking Samantha Wildman down as she passed. Samantha let out a laugh "Ha! Tom Paris, you think you're the only one who knows how to read a Klingon."
B'Elanna skidded to a halt outside her quarters. 'What to do. What to do.' She noticed her hand was shaking as she went to open the door and stopped herself. 'What am I doing? I am a big tough Klingon warrior. Why am I standing here shaking and whimpering like a teenager?' With that she opened the door and strode purposely into her quarters.
The sight that greeted her was a pure vision and B'Elanna grabbed the table for support. Before her stood Seven of Nine Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero One wearing nothing but a big blue bow. Seven walked towards her and B'Elanna whimpered. Huh, so much for being a big tough Klingon warrior.
Seven gazed into B'Elanna's soft brown eyes and said, "I have one last gift to give you Lieutenant. I have researched the protocols on gift giving and Lieutenant and you cannot give it back once you've accepted it. Do you accept Lanna?"
"Yes, Seven I accept with all my heart. But I must warn you I intend to keep this gift for a very long time and I don't share." As Seven leaned in to kiss the her beautiful Klingon warrior she couldn't help but smile as B'Elanna murmured "Yep, forever should be just long enough."
