Torres stormed through the corridor ....

21 Mar 2001

Torres stormed through the corridor, anger and pent up frustration coursing through her. After spending eighteen straight hours trying to fix the deflector array one small capacitance relay had set her back to square one. Realising that her frustration was not conducive to a good working atmosphere in Engineering she had at least had the good sense to take herself off duty to blow off a little steam. She smiled grimly at the thought of pulverising as many Cardassians, Kazon and any other enemy she could think of in the short time slot she had found for Holodeck One.

Hardly breaking stride, she launched herself through the swishing doors and opened her mouth ready to initiate her program but was stopped in her tracks as she saw Seven of Nine in a passionate embrace with Chakotay.

Mumbling a short apology for disturbing them, Torres spun on her heel but stopped when she heard the words "Computer, halt program". ‘Halt program, what the?´ as she turned again she saw the frozen figure of the Native American, arms still raised as if to clinch someone.

Seven approached her nervously.

"You were kissing a hologram?" Torres asked incredulously. "After all the stick you gave the Captain?"

"I have misjudged the Captain on that matter. It would appear that there can be some comfort from the feeling of being wanted, even if from a holographic character."

Torres was outraged. "How can you judge Seven? Have you ever been kissed by a real person?"

"No one has ever wanted to kiss me out of love Lieutenant, only lust". Seven stated matter of factly.

The words were like a blow to B´Elanna. She could fully appreciate the feelings of lust over the ex drone for she was the most perfect woman B´Elanna had ever laid eyes on. But she was far more than that. Strong physically, yet emotionally fragile, supremely intelligent yet curiously naïve, her character was complex but one that Torres suddenly knew she wanted to get to know better.

She approached Seven and took her hand gently.

"Then let me show you the difference," she whispered as she drew the tall blonde into her arms.

The End
